Port Orford offers great whale watching during the year.

Because of the unusually rich kelp and algae beds in Port Orford bay, California Greys are usually in residence all year round.

The best whale-watching spots are Port Orford Heads, Cape Blanco, Battle Rock Park and even our WildSpring deck in the morning when the seas are flat.

These photos were all taken from Coast Guard Hill on the way out to Port Orford Heads in August '07.
