My son & I went to the Port Orford Lifeboats and Museum and met 2 lovely volunteers with some very interesting information. In our way back to WildSpring we found a lock-out point with a lovely view of the coast. We’re taking my husband back today. The Guest Hall is a beautiful setting for breakfast, a delicious healthy breakfast, and we enjoyed playing checkers there in the afternoon, too. “Barenton cabin has been a “meant-to-be” space for us within this incredibly serene and spiritual place on our Earth. We walked through the door on Friday and there facing us was a cedar chest exactly like the one I got 54 years ago for my 12th birthday on Feb 18 in a second-hand store in Ketchikan, the territory of Alaska! I’ve never seen another like it. And the setting here – the woods, the ferns, the sun through the tall trees – as I look out the windows, transports me back to the days of my childhood and my native american friends and their peaceful culture.
